The weather service in Aberdeen and Sioux Falls put a Blizzard Warning for a couple of counties in eastern South Dakota late tonight and into Saturday morning. This includes Interstate 29 from north of Sioux Falls to the Brookings, Watertown, and Sisseton areas.
Travel should be restricted to emergencies only. If you must travel, have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded, stay with your vehicle.

As the storm system continues to move away from the region, cold air behind it will change rain to snow, bringing the risk of snow accumulations of two to four inches, with some isolated higher amounts by Saturday afternoon. With strong winds in this system, areas of blowing snow and visibility down to 1/4 mile will create significant travel difficulties for the area.
