Thunderstorms, rain showers, and even wintry mix and snow are possible with the next storm system coming late Friday and into the weekend. As you see, the two major weather models, the GFS and ECMWF are not in total agreement where the heaviest amounts of precipitation are going to fall.

Where thunderstorms do develop with this system, those areas will see the highest chance for significant amounts of rainfall, which at this time look to be across the southeast, with isolated strong to severe thunderstorms possible for parts of Nebraska on Thursday and Friday.

Currently, no major snowfall is expected, and the best risk for any type of accumulating snow by the end of the weekend is across the north or west.
