On Tuesday evening, a few thunderstorms in south-central South Dakota became severe and produced hail.
Hail fell from these thunderstorms, not big hail, but a large amount covered the ground as the storms moved through. Two miles west of Clearfield, hail up to the nickel size (0.88") was reported in Tripp County.
As these storms continued into east river, the Severe Thunderstorm Warning was dropped as the storms weakened below severe weather limits.
