Winds of hurricane strength caused by storms pushed across parts of western and central regions of South Dakota on Thursday blowing down trees and branches, ripping off a pole barn roof, and creating power outages.
The most powerful winds were in the northwest, where a 91mph gust was reported one mile north of Buffalo. Okobojo Creek Rec Area received a 74mph, and near Whitlocks Bay Rec Area, a 73mph storm wind gust was reported. Below are the official storm wind gusts reports from the National Weather Service.
