Isolated Strong Storms Cause Damage in the Northeast

Thunderstorms over Brown County in northeast, South Dakota brough wind damage and large hail during Tuesday evening.

Storm reports from the National Weather Service Office out of Aberdeen reported several 10 to 12-inch diameter tree branches were down, along with several 3 to 4-inch branches on the ground about two miles east of Frederick. The area also received a 1.25" diameter (half-dollar size) hail from the same thunderstorm moving across the region.

These storms continued towards the southeast but lost their severe level strength as the evening continued on.
