Waves of light snow moved across portions of South Dakota on Wednesday and into the morning of Thanksgiving, creating slippery conditions for motorists on their holiday travel.
Wednesday is typically the most traveled day of the year, and motorists in South Dakota come across scattered slippery sports from scattered ice or snow-covered roads, according to the South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT).
According to SDDOT's sd511.org website, these conditions were found in parts of northeast and east central and then back to west central South Dakota on Thanksgiving morning. Parts of Interstate 90 were reported snow covered roads and mainly slippery conditions with reduced speeds from Wall and towards the west to Rapid City.
