Mild Weather Ahead of Colder Holiday

Updated: Nov 23, 2023

Temperatures today will be much warmer than what we will see on Thanksgiving and into the Thanksgiving weekend.

Forecast highs are expected to reach into the 50s across the north and east with some 60s for the southwest and south-central, South Dakota.

A cold front is then forecast to bring colder temperatures along with chances of light snow to the southwest corner of the state for Thanksgiving. Highs on Thursday will only reach into the 20s and 30s with north winds of 5 to 15mph. A Winter Storm Watch remains in effect for the far southwest corner of the state where three to six inches of snow is possible Thursday afternoon through Friday morning.

The light snow forecast to push across the state over the weekend has been pushed more to the south as forecast models are keeping the chances of snow mainly south into Nebraska.
