Quick Hit of Snow

A clipper-like system is forecast to bring a quick hit of snow to parts of South Dakota on Monday night and into Tuesday.

Forecast Map for 8:00am CST on Tuesday, December 17th, 2024

The primary current forecast models are mainly in agreement that the best risk of snowfall between one to three inches will be across east-central South Dakota or those along US Highway 14 from Huron to Brookings along with nearby counties.

The chances will start to increase tonight and continue through Tuesday afternoon. Luckily, the winds during the snow event will not be an issue, with wind gusts around 10 to 15mph.
