A storm system from our south kicked up wintry precipitation to southern and up towards east-central South Dakota on Thursday.

Freezing rain started the precipitation in some locations, including Sioux Falls, and then heavy wet snow followed. Sioux Falls reported thundersnow that brought a quick hit of accumulating snow with total snowfall amounts from six to seven inches.
