The same storm system that brought heavy, wet snow to parts of South Dakota also produced a severe thunderstorm in Nebraska.
As south-central South Dakota has no travel advisories and Winter Weather Advisories from heavy snowfall, spring-type weather was found south of the state line.
Then, down by Norfolk, Nebraska, one isolated thunderstorm became strong enough to become a severe thunderstorm warned. Hail was mostly 1/2 inch in size, with a couple of hailstones near the size of quarters (1.00") that covered the ground in Stanton, Nebraska. In the same county, 1/2 mile of power lines were blown down from the storm.
As the storm continued eastward, it quickly weakened below severe limits.
