Several thunderstorms developed over eastern South Dakota on Sunday afternoon, bringing large hail, funnel clouds, and property damage.
Many locations received severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings during the event. Hail was reported to be as large as baseballs (2.75").

Large hail was not the only severe storm event; funnel clouds and rotation also occurred in east-central South Dakota. Besides the confirmed tornado near Faith, no other reports at this time have come in on tornadoes on the ground. There were several brief funnel cloud reports, mainly from a storm that formed over Clark County and headed east into Kingsbury, Hamlin, and Brookings County.

Comments: Very Brief Funnel Cloud.
Strong winds at Lake Poinsett damaged a couple of campers. Law enforcement and fire crews were dispatched to three campers that had blown over from the storm. Luckily, no injuries were reported.
