Many communities in southeast South Dakota have snow alerts issued as street crews have been out clearing the roads from snow.

Some places in north-central South Dakota saw snowfall amounts of over a half foot during a February snow event.

Ahead of cold air, a band of snow develop dropping several inches to mainly the northern half of South Dakota on Sunday and into Monday.

Those in west-central South Dakota are dealing with very slippery roads from freezing drizzle that settled over the area.

After temperatures being the coldest felt during the winter season, a January thaw is in store for this week.
