It is hard to believe that snow has fallen in a few locations in South Dakota when temperatures last week were into the 80s and 90s.

A typical spring storm over the northern plains brought a mix of snow and slippery road conditions in the Black Hills, as well as a tornado warning in Omaha, Nebraska.

The first round of wintry precipitation brought half a foot of snow to parts of the northeast Tuesday morning.

Winter returns for the start of April, causing motorists to find themselves in the ditch or worse.
